Get a taste for speed at the Streetcar Driver Training and Track Day at Killarney International Raceway, open to all!

Think you’ve got yourself a mean machine? Prove it, at the Killarney International Raceway Streetcar Track Day. The streetcar Track Day is a driver training orientated event hosted by Killarney International raceway .

The gates open to street cars from all over the city for a pedal-to-the-metal track day.

Killarney International Raceway first got the taste for racing in 1947, and even went on to host a non-championship Grand Prix in 1960 which saw the legendary Sterling Moss triumph in a very fast Porsche. Ever since, the raceway has grown more famous and now they are opening the track up once again for street cars. You’ll be able to shoot around the track at whatever speed you dare; get the real race feel at Killarney International Raceway.

The track day will work as follows; each entrant will be categorised and will race in their category. There are three categories; beginner, intermediate and advanced. The beginner category means that, for your own safety, you will not be able to outbreak and pass/overtake on corners. Intermediate racers can outbreak but will not be permitted to overtake on corners. If you are placed in the advanced category, then there is no need to hold back and you can race full throttle. Each category will be allocated 15 minutes of track time, and the categories will rotate to give everyone a chance to race every half an hour. At the end of the day there will also be an open session where all participants can race together and, according to the organisers, it usually happens during the last thirty minutes of the day.

In order to take part, you will need a car in good condition as no unsafe vehicles will be allowed to take part, a helmet (you can bring your own, but you can also rent one from the Raceway on the day), closed shoes and a long-sleeved top. The main aim of the day is to keep everyone safe, and not adhering to these rules will result in not being allowed to take part at all.
