WOMANS DAY AT THE CLUBHOUSE - 9 AUGUST 2017

Wednesday, 9 August was Women's Day in South Africa. It was also the day chosen to hold a Powers Series race meeting at Killarney. WPMC acknowledged their female race drivers with a parade after lunch.

Our club house saw one of the busiest days in the calendar.

Food, as always, was spectacular, and Lynda and Robyn delivered, as they always do, with good cheer, and no fuss. Birgit was in her usual spot, front of house, taking cash, and putting through the orders. Variation to the menu was a lamb ragu pasta, and it was a welcome addition, totally delicious!

All in all, it was a great days racing, particularly for those of us who are Porsche fans, as Johan Engelbrecht took first place in the Sports and GT event. My day was made by Colin coming in with a podium finish, in third place, for the day. He also managed to record his fastest time, ever, at a 1:13:3!

Times on the track are getting ever quicker, and times at the track, and in our club house, are always great fun. Congratulations to Shane Williams, and Rosanna, on their engagement, and many thanks to Shane, who managed to negotiate a pizza oven, for us. It doesn't compete with Lynda's food, but feeds the Friday night fridge packers, and the stragglers who stay on when the racing is done for the day, and Lynda has headed home to put her feet up, after the long, long days in the mini kitchen!
